William G. Brooks III
Retired as Chief of the Norwood, Massachusetts Police Department following a career of over 47 years. He also served as a patrolman, sergeant, detective sergeant and, in Wellesley, Massachusetts, as Deputy Chief of Police. He has
presented to police and criminal justice agencies across the United States, served on the committee at the National Academy of Sciences that issued the 2014 report “Identifying the Culprit, Assessing Eyewitness Identification” and was the 2012 recipient of the Innocence Network’s Champion of Justice Award. Chief Brooks sat on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Chiefs of Police for ten years and currently chairs the IACP Firearms Committee. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
